Cocum Rasam(Punar Puli or Murigina Odu Rasam)

Cocum Rasam can be eaten with rice and its good for digestion and also its good for cooling your body too. 

Things Needed:
Dried Cocum  : 5 to 6
Water : 2 cups
Green chillies : 2 to 3
Coriander Leaves : 2 Table spoon ( wash and cut into small pieces).
Curry Leaves : 5 to 6
Salt :to taste
Jaggery  : 1 Table spoon
Oil : 1 Tea spoon
Mustard Seeds : 1/2 Tea spoon
Urd Daal 1/2 Tea spoon
Ingh :  a pinch
Turmeric powder: a pinch.

Method :
Wash and soak Cocum skins in hot water for 1/2 an hour . Squeeze out  the pulp with water , Pour this water to a big pan and add salt and a pinch of  turmeric powder and jaggery to it  and  Keep this mixture  on the fire to boil . Add one more cup of water and let it boil nicely . Add cut green chillies .   Now take a small pan . Put oil and heat . Put mustard seeds and urd daal . Let it spurt. Add ingh and curry leaves . Mix this spurt spices in the boiling mixture. Put coriander leaves and serve with Hot rice and a spoonful of ghee on the top of the rice.
Note: You can add little more jaggery  if you are in favour of sweet side.  You can also serve this as starter. 
Serves 2 to 3

    Cocum is good for Pitta ( kannada word). You can also prepare juice out of this pulp.
