Cucumber Neer Dosa

Today' S recipe is "Cucumer Neer dosa". Neer dosa is one of the famous dosa delicascy from Our Udupi & Mangalore region. Its world famous now.
This Cucumber Neer dosa is so yummy and healthy. You got one more dish for the breakfast. 


Cucumber is filled with water and fiber rich. Its full of diatery fiber content and low in calories. Its filled with Vitamin K and C. It helps lower the blood sugar. It has antioxidant properties, magnesium and potassium. It helps to reduce inflammation and lower the risk of chronic diseases. 
Adding cucumber helps to bring the Neer dosa very soft and yummy with its natural aaroma.



Things Needed/ Ingredients :

2 Cups white dosa rice.
1 Cucumber .
Salt to taste.
Oil or ghee to cook.

For Mango Rasayaana : 
1 Big Mango.
2 Bananas. (Elakki Banana)
1 Cup of boiled and cooled milk.
2 Tbs jaggery powder.
2 to 3 Tbs grated coconut.

Method for  Cucumber Neer Dosa :
Wash and soak 2 cups of dosa rice over night.
Morning  drain the water and wash it again.
Grate 1 Cucumber. (Peel off the green part before grating)
Grate 2 to 3 tbs fresh coconut.
Mix all these and grind . ( I used Mixi jar).
Use little water to grind if needed.
Shift it to a bowl. 
Add required salt and 4 cups of water. 
Mix it nicely and the batter is ready to prepare Dosa.
Now heat  a pan  and sprinkle some oil on top.
Mix the bater and take a ladle of batter and spread it like dosa. ( Slowly pour on the pan).
Cover and cook on high flame to get better Neer dosa. 
Take out the cover and leave the dosa on pan for 2 to 3 seconds.
Take it out and Enjoy with Mango Rasayana and Pickle.


 

Manngo Rasayana : 
Wash Mango (I used Bengana palli), and squeeze out the pulp.
Peel of banana skin aside and cut the fruit into small. 
Add banana fruit pieces with mango pulp.
Add 2 tbs jaggery powder.
Add milk and mix it with your fingers. ( Mash a little nicely).
Mango Banana Rasayana is ready.
Serve Cucumber Neer dosa with Mango Rasayana.
Add little ghee on Neer dosa to get good taste.
Eating Cucumber Neer dosa with pickle is also good.







 Note :
Adding water while grinding is depending on the rice you use. If you feel the dosa turns very soft, Add 2 tbs Semolina and mix the batter nicely.
Each time you should mix the batter when you prepare dosa because rice flour (grinded batter is collected at down part of the bowl.
