Jack Fruit Rava Rotti

Jack fruits season is here and we udupi region people not only eating jack fruits ,  like to prepare delicious dishes with Jackfruits and enjoy.  During this jackfruit season is like a feast at home. There are so many dishes like, jack fruit dosa, kadubu, mulka (sweet bonda/ pakoda), payasa, holige, Halva, Happala so on. 
These are prepared with jackfruits when they are completely ripen.

Raw jack fruits are also used in dishes and they are very popular now a days, Raw jackfruit biriyani, vadas, palya, sambar and so on.

Here is one of the Jackfruit delicacy which I have prepared using Semolina.
Jack fruit Rava Rotti is sweet version and you can eat with pickle and ghee.




Let us see some benefits of eating Jack fruits.
Jack fruits are rich in potassium, antioxidants and fiber rich. Good for digestion .
It helps to boost immunity. It is filled with minerals and vitamis.

Now Lets see how to prepare Jackfruit Rava Rotti and the things we need.

Things Needed :
Medium size Rava/ Semolina : 2 Cups.
Jackfruit Pulp : 2 Cups (about 20 to 25 jackfruit bulbs:
jaggery : 2 Tbs. 
Fresh grated coconut : 1 Cup.
Salt : very little .
Oil or ghee to cook.
Water :1/2 Cup.

Method : 
Grind jackfruits (remove the seeds and the hard cover before grinding)
Add it to a big bowl.
Add 2 cups of Semolina. 
Add grated coconut and 2 tbs jaggery. ( Use 2 glass rava and 2 tbs jaggery).
Add a pinch of salt and mix it well. 
Add 1/2 Cup of water and mix it again. Leave it for 10 minutes.











Heat a pan and sprinkle some oil on the pan. Take a handful of the batter and spread it on thepan as thin as you like. (Wet your fingers in water to spread).



Turn the other side slowly and cook on low flame.


Jackfruit Rava Rotti is ready to serve.

  Serve with ghee and pickle . ( Pickle is optional for sweet toothers).
