Today's post is Quick Banana Guli Appa.
These Guli appa is famous in our temple around Udupi and even in Kerala. I had these Guli Appa Prasada in one of the Krishna temple near Alapi.
Appa seve is one of the ritual and lots of Guli Appa is prepared and do Nevedya in temples like Dharmastala Temple, Pernankila Ganapathi temple and most of the temples in our Dakshina Kannada and around. The taste of these Appa Prasad is divine.
These Quick Banana Guli Appa is prepared using Banana , Rava, Avalakki/ Poha and little rice flour. Adding little jaggery gives mild sweetness and cardamom aroma adds to the taste.
Quick Banana Guli Appa can be prepared for for breakfast or as evening snack.

Things needed :
Rava/ Semolina medium size : 2 cups
Poha / Avalakki thin variety : 1 Cup
Well Ripe Banana : 2 (I have used Yalakki variety)
Rice Flour 1/2 Cup
JAGGERY : 3 TO 4 Tbs. ( According to your taste).
Coconut Grsted : 4 to 5 Tbs.
Cardamom 2 to 3
Salt : Required.
Curd : 1 Small Cup.
MethodSoak Semolina and Avalakki separately for 10 minutes.
Peel off the skin of banana and cut into small pieces.
Grind soaked avalakki/ poha, semolina/ rava and curd for 2 to 3 minutes.
Add jaggery, cardamom, coconut and cut bananas.
( Soked rava and Avalakki has water in them).
Keep Appe Pan on the fire and heat. Add little oil to each dip.
Put a spoonful of banana Guli Appa batter to each dip and cook on low and medium flame. Add little oil on top.
Take it out to a bowl. Repeat the same and prepare remaiining guli appa.
Serve with ghee on top
Note : You can prepare Guli Appa without adding rice flour.But it turns very soft.
Sprinkle ghee on top of guli appa is optional. ( You can cook guli appa using ghee. its more tasty).
Cooking on low flame turns the Guli Appa gets the good colour.
