The Famous Mangalore Buns.

 Mangalore Buns are one of the Yummy delicacy from our region.


Its one of  the oldest recipe. My doddamma used to prepare this Mangalore Buns for the evening snack.

You can see Mangalore Buns all over the hotels in Karnataka. Its not only fill your stomach, it makes you Happy tooo.

Let us see How to prepare this Mangalore Buns.  



Thinks Needed : 

Maida / All purpose flour : 3 Cups.

Well Ripe Banana : 3 ( I used 1 Paccha Banana ( long one) 2 Elakki Banana)

Sugar : 2 Tbs.

Salt : a little 

Curd : 2 Tbs

Ghee : 1 Tbs.

Oil to Fry : 1 Cup.


Method :

Take a big bowl and add cut Bananas, sugar, curd and salt. Mix it well.




Add Maida/ All purpose flour and mix it nicely.



Do not add any water.  If the dough turns sticky add some more flour little by little and prepare soft dough. Leave it for over night. Just spread a 1/2 tsp oil and cover it. 






Next Day MorningThe dough is like this.





Add a pinch of baking powder and a tsp of oil. Knead the dough well.







Divide the dough in small portions.



Sprinkle some wheat flour and roll a small portion as small poories.



Heat a cup of oil in a pan and fry Mangalore  bun on both sides.



Roll and fry all the buns and put it on a kitchen tissue.


Serve with Bendekayi/ Lady finger curry  or your favourite side dish.
